Frederick County Childcare Initiative
Meeting the Need for Childcare Professionals
Frederick County Workforce Services (FCWS) is proud to collaborate with the Division of Family Services to address a critical need for quality childcare in Frederick County. This initiative, informed by the Childcare Market Study and the Workforce Engagement Summit, supports the development of a strong childcare workforce by offering training opportunities to residents looking to join this essential industry.
By supporting career growth in childcare, we’re not just addressing workforce gaps; we’re empowering families and fostering a thriving community. Market studies reveal a shortage of licensed childcare providers, making it difficult for families—particularly in northern and southeastern Frederick County—to access reliable care.
Expanding childcare services allows more parents to remain in the workforce, reducing lost wages and strengthening the local economy.
Childcare professionals have significant growth opportunities, with career pathways ranging from teaching and center management to launching their own businesses.
By entering the childcare field, or advancing your credentials, you’ll play a vital role in expanding access to quality care while building a meaningful and rewarding career.
Frederick County Workforce Services, in partnership with local organizations, is actively working to bridge this gap by offering programs that support both aspiring and experienced childcare professionals.
