Addressing High Turnover in the Workplace

Many industries and positions tend to have high turnover of staff. While it may not be possible to completely eliminate turnover, there are incentives that companies have implemented to reduce the number of employees leaving. Staff training to take on new technology or new responsibilities may entice employees to stay and enable them to grow while also benefiting the company. Team building activities help to foster a sense of belonging and ownership in the mission and objectives of the company. Updating the work space with new technology or tools, replacing old office furniture, or even a fresh coat of paint can add to the appeal of a work environment. And, of course, financial rewards are always appreciated; it can be an increase in wages or it can be an incentive like a bonus, a commission or profit sharing.
