'Tis the Season of Gratitude
By Michelle Day MA, CWDP, Director, Frederick County Workforce Services
As the holiday season approaches, we find ourselves reflecting on the incredible generosity that defines the Frederick community. This year has been filled with remarkable achievements, growth, and collaboration, and we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for a community that makes it all possible.
It takes an entire community to shape the success stories of individuals in our workforce development programs. Through internships, mentorship programs, and skills training initiatives, our community never fails to come together to lend a hand. The team at Workforce Services is grateful for a community that values the importance of giving every person an opportunity to get into a career where they can support themselves and their families.
This holiday season, we're grateful for the exceptional and critical components of our successful workforce development ecosystem.
Business Community
We appreciate those business that roll up their sleeves and collaborate with partners to build a strong local workforce. Whether is arranging robust internship programs, providing opportunities for candidates with differing abilities, participating in initiatives to help job seekers grow into careers, or offering youth hands-on experience and exposure to real-world challenges; businesses play a pivotal role in creating opportunities for professional growth and development. Quite simply, workforce development cannot happen without the support of local business and industry partners.
Community Partners
A big shout-out to all our community partners that go above and beyond and seek out opportunities to engage in Workforce Development activities in our community. Frederick is rich with access to skills training workshops, special events like job fairs, community resource fairs, and showcase events that support and equip our participants with the resources, knowledge, and expertise needed to thrive in their chosen fields.

From our K-12 educators to our local colleges, the talent pipeline in Frederick County has access to informed career guidance, mentorship initiatives experienced professionals with individuals eager to learn and grow within their respective industries, and on-ramps to career pathways for those joining the workforce right after HS to those in pursuit of advanced degrees.
In the true spirit of gratitude and giving, we invite you to join us in celebrating the generosity of our community. Whether it's through volunteer opportunities, continued collaboration, or sharing your own success stories, every contribution makes a difference.
As we close out this remarkable year, we're excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. With your continued support, we aim to expand our impact, foster more partnerships, and create even greater opportunities for individuals seeking to enhance their skills and build meaningful careers.
