Frederick County Workforce Services: Year-End Highlights
By Patty McDonald
The end of June wrapped up our Program Year at Workforce Services (FCWS), and we’ve had some great success stories over the year. The team at FCWS is committed to growing the economic vitality of Frederick County and helping people to grow their career potential. It’s inspiring to see how our programs positively impact individuals and the community. Last year, the team at Frederick County Workforce Services:
Dispersed over $330,000 into the local community for training and skill development for individuals and businesses.
Provided one-one career counseling for over 200 individuals seeking to further their career through training and employment.
Supported approximately 300 local businesses with recruitment support, talent development, Labor Market information and access to qualified candidates.
Served over 100 Youth and Young Adults in developing work readiness and making connections to local business.
In addition to the dedicated staff at our center, the workforce development system locally includes a network of community partners working together to help people develop the skills needed to secure meaningful careers and remove barriers to self-sustainability.
We are always looking for businesses to partner with us to do this important work. Connect with us If you’d like to be a part of developing the local labor force!
