Woman to Woman Mentoring: A Resource with You in Mind!

In 2004, the Frederick County Commission for Women (FCCFW), made up of 11 influential members, conducted a needs assessment to address challenges faced by women in the community. This led to the creation of a women’s mentoring organization aimed toward guiding and supporting women in achieving their educational, career, and personal goals.  Since then, Woman to Woman Mentoring (W2WM) has expanded and evolved significantly, now offering support through all types of life transitions.

Woman to Woman Mentoring currently offers mentoring programs for adult women (18+), including one-on-one mentorship and collaborative workshops. The CORE Mentoring program supports women 18-35 through various life transitions—professional, personal, or educational. The Women in STEM Mentorship program connects women in STEM fields or education with professionals for guidance. Additionally, the Mentoring Circle program provides a peer-to-peer structure for women to explore their next steps with a supportive group of like-minded women.

Woman to Woman Mentoring is always seeking compassionate volunteers to join as mentors and share their unique experiences and stories. As a mentor, you'll have the opportunity to guide and inspire women in our community, offering valuable insights and perspectives that can make a profound difference in their lives. As a mentee, you’ll have the opportunity to have the support, insights, and accountability of a mentor as you explore your interests and goals.  Whether as a mentee, a mentor, a community connection, or a volunteer, your involvement can help empower women in Frederick.

The next program cohorts start in September. Find out more information about how you can get involved or participate in a program and apply today!
