This is the entry-level of repair and maintenance work on motor vehicles and/or construction/maintenance equipment. Employees are responsible for performing routine repair work, standard preventive maintenance services and assisting with major automotive repairs. Employees receive general supervision from a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor or other designated supervisor.
Transportation Engineering Technicians
Transportation Engineering Technicians work in a variety of Inspection and Maintenance positions revolving around concrete, road, bridge, culvert and other highway-related areas. From procuring materials and tracking inventory, to performing material testing and emergency repairs, you'll have a variety of options depending on the specific job location. With an eye for safety, you'll ensure that the daily maintenance structures operations are carried out correctly, safely, in accordance with standards and specifications and in a timely manner that will least affect the travelling public.
Administrative Officers for Finance
As an Administrative Officer for Finance, you will be part of the finance team. MDOT has a variety of locations and specialties that all require financial Administrative Officers. You will provide administrative support for your team, including customer service, data entry, procurement contracts, and other items to ensure budgets are kept and financial reporting is accurate and complete.
Procurement
A Procurement Officer I procures transportation related equipment (buses, rail, port vessels, etc.), services, construction materials/services, supplies, and information technology equipment/services for the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT). The Procurement Officer I is also responsible for soliciting, evaluating, negotiating, and awarding contracts in compliance with governmental procurement laws, regulations, and conditions. Employees in this classification do not supervise other positions.
