Temporary Work Experience
Businesses
The Temporary Work Experience (TWE) program at Frederick County Workforce Services (FCWS) collaborates with local businesses to offer short-term job opportunities. This initiative helps job seekers gain valuable industry-specific experience and bolster their résumés. Businesses act as host worksites, creating temporary positions with job descriptions tailored to the experience they aim to provide. FCWS handles the screening and preparation of candidates, ensuring they possess essential work readiness skills. Businesses then interview and select the most suitable candidate.
Is your business looking for a cost-effective way to evaluate talent while contributing to workforce development? The TWE program provides local businesses with:
Cost Savings: FCWS funds participant wages and fringe benefits, reducing your financial risk.
Talent Shaping: Mentor participants and help build a stronger, more skilled local workforce.
Evaluation Opportunity: Assess potential employees in a real-world setting.
Temporary Staffing Support: Fill short-term roles with pre-screened candidates who benefit from structured guidance, with no obligation beyond the work experience.
Many businesses discover the "perfect fit" among TWE participants, making it an excellent opportunity to identify potential future hires.
