Staff Profile: Meet Gwen (Gigi) Edwards

Gwen is the Program Specialist for the Employment Training Services (ETS) team. We asked Gwen about her role at FCWS, what she likes about workforce development, and how she enjoys spending her free time.

What is your role at FCWS?

I am Program Specialist for the Employment Training Services (ETS) team. I do registrations, navigation meetings, reports, collect data to make sure we are meeting goals, and reports. I also work with vendors. You could say I am jack of all trades, master of none for this team.

What do you like best about working in workforce development?

I enjoy doing the behind the scenes stuff. Collecting data, reports, looking at ways to make the processes easier for the team or customer.

If you had $30,000 to donate to a workforce development program, what would you want done with it?

I would start an internal program for 60+ workers. It would give them new skills set to be able to thrive in today's working world. It hopefully train employers the value of having older workers in their companies.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I enjoy spending time with family, especially my granddaughters. I enjoy swimming, bike riding, flying, kayaking or doing anything around water.
