Staff Profile: Meet Stephanie Wiant

Stephanie is an Employment and Training Consultant for the Catalyst Program. We asked Stephanie about her role at FCWS, what she likes about workforce development, and how she enjoys spending her time outside of the office.

What is your role at FCWS?

Employment and Training Consultant for the Catalyst Program - Career Navigation for Young Adults, ages 16 - 24. I work with Young Adults seeking employment or training while providing mentorship along the way.

What do you like best about working in workforce development?

I enjoy empowering people to stay close to their joy as they navigate their job search. What sparks your soul will get you through any transition in life and seeking employment can be a challenging pivot in life. Joy is a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do each day and I am very passionate about helping Emerging Youth discover their joy.

If you had $30,000 to donate to a workforce development program, what would you want done with it?

Ya'll asked so here we go!!! I would use those funds to create an in house library space where our Emerging Youth could read together, socialize, practice critical thinking, and discuss their job journey. Reading is a powerful tool for self-discovery and I would be thrilled if we had regular book clubs/social programs to strengthen literacy for career readiness.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I enjoy writing, painting, a good game of Uno, meditation, singing, going for walks with my wife, beach trips, and visiting libraries across the country. Spending time with our fur kids, Novi, Puccini, Batina, and Maestro is always entertaining as well!
