Staff Profile: Patty McDonald

Patty is the Program Manager, Business and Career Services, at Frederick County Workforce Services. We asked Patty about her role at FCWS, what she likes about workforce development, and how she enjoys spending her free time.

What is your role at FCWS?

Program Manager, Business and Career Services. I develop and oversee the implementation of workforce programs for businesses and job seekers.

What do you like best about working in workforce development?

I love having the ability to get creative in designing programs the are helpful for our customers! No two days are the same, and it's fun to build things that make a difference for our community.

If you had $30,000 to donate to a workforce development program, what would you want done with it?

I would use additional funds for an internship program that helps businesses build capacity to serve as host sites for workers who are trying to gain experience in their fields.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I enjoy time outdoors hiking, gardening, playing with the dogs, or enjoying a sunny day if possible. If I have to be inside, I enjoy cooking and hanging out with my family.
